FAQs

How old must my child be to attend Wild Child?

Our programs are designed for children 2.5-5 years old. Students will be most successful if they are 2.5 years old before August 1, 2024.

What are the school’s hours?

Wild Child holds full time preschool classes from 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday, with the exception of Friday which end at 3:00pm.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

Not fully, but we encourage all parents to start training prior to students entering our programs. Families are asked to provide necessary supplies during the school year.

What is the teacher ratio and class size?

We are limiting our classes to no more than nine students each, so the entire school will only be eighteen families.

What happens during Nature Fridays?

We learn about forest ecology, weather patterns, build forts, explore new trails, and get out our boundless energy! Should there be inclement weather, the schoolhouse is our backup.

What is WC’s food program?

Wild Child provides nutritious, organic foods that ensure quality and creativity are served. Our chef uses fresh ingredients to create balanced meals that are sure to expand our students’ palates. Tuition includes breakfast, lunch and snack. There is no need to bring outside meals as everything is prepared fresh. However, if there are any allergies or specific dietary restrictions, we work closely with the family to accommodate.

Is tuition assistance available?

Wild Child believes that every child deserves a high-quality education and schools should be accessible to all families. We offer flexible structures for a variety of budgets and time availability. Further information will be shared in the application process.

How does attending school affect our Covid-19 exposure? What happens if we go into strict lockdown again?

Everyone will be expected to follow all CDC guidelines. Hopefully this won’t happen now that the vaccine is widely distributed, but should we have to shelter-in-place again, Wild Child will legally be able to continue operations.

What happens if someone in the school becomes sick?

Should a student contract Covid-19, they will be asked to refrain from attending school during recovery and will only be readmitted with negative test results or doctor’s note. Should a student’s family member become ill, their child(ren) will stay home until recovery. Tuition refunds will not be possible. If a WC educator falls ill, a healthy, suitable replacement will be found and they will not resume teaching until full recovery.

Is Wild Child a licensed preschool?

We are a new preschool and are currently in the process of obtaining our license. We have designed the program and space in full compliance with regulations and expect to receive full approvals in the coming weeks.
